Steeds meer mensen zien dat Arusha een prachtige bestemming is om een safari te starten of te beginnen. Vlak voordat het vakantie seizoen begint hebben wij hier de aandacht op gevestigd.

DESTINATION ARUSHA

More and more people think of Arusha as a destination. And right so. With its enjoyable climate, very friendly inhabitants and wonderful surroundings, Arusha is so much more than just a stopover before travelling to the National Parks like Tarangire and the Serengeti.

The majority of visitors of the Northern part of Tanzania arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. And a growing number has discovered Arusha is worth spending at least two nights. An excellent starting point for an unforgettable holiday.

Arusha Villa has proven to be an excellent location for daytrips around Arusha. Hiking the neighborhood offers a special insight in the lives of the local people. Encounters with school children in their uniforms, many with firewood or jerrycans on their heads, wanting to practise their English with tourists are unforgettable. Buying bananas at the local market at the nearby village Chekereni is just fun, especially when you try to practise your Swahili.

A little further -just a 30 minute drive- lies Arusha National Park. The scenery is worth the visit alone. Many visitors choose to explore the park on foot. Nowhere else can you come this close to giraffes, zebras and buffalos. Canoeing the Momela lake will be a great option for people seeking for another unique experience. Views of the hippos, whilst being on the water, will never be forgotten.

During a visit to the Northern Circuit people spend many, many hours in the car. Some activities before or after these days are a welcome change. A cycling tour on the slopes of Mount Meru or the Kilimanjaro allows some physical exercise. In many of these areas tourist are not seen often, which makes it extra special. The green hills and the dirt roads might be challenging for some but with a private guide the route will always meet the needs and wishes of all the guests.

Horseback riding might be even more spectacular. An early ride in the morning offers the largest change of seeing some wildlife, a ride in the afternoon though can be rewarded with a sundowner. It is all up to you!

A coffeetour with a fine lunch at the Arusha Coffee lodge, golfing at the spectacular Kili golfcourse or a visit to the Animal Rescue Centre in Moshi. The number of activities are endless and Arusha has something for everyone.

Finally, don’t forget to visit the central market, just to feel the atmosphere that makes Arusha so unique. Destionation Arusha. Be amazed.
